How Long Do You Think a Papillon Mixed With a Chihuahua Will Live?

I just got a papillon/chihuahua mix. He is 4 years old now. I found that a papillon usually lives around 13-15 or 16 years and chihuahuas can live up to 20 years old. Trying to find out what others might think or if you own a really old chihuahua or papillon or one thats mixed with these two breeds.

Thanks

Judging from both of the breeds your dog is mixed with the dog will leave about 14 to 15 years. Small dogs and especially the breeds of dogs you dog is mixed with tend to live a long time, but it takes proper medical care and diet to make sure they live their maximum and at their happiest

As separate breeds and bred by a reputable breeder who tests the dogs for genetic problems and only breeds the healthiest dogs together after researching lines, I’m sure those are normal ages.

HOWEVER, when you have backyard breeders letting poor quality dogs with genetic problems breed just to make money on "designer" dogs, they you probably will have dogs that might make it to half that age.

they do say to be honest cross breeds live longer though id say its the way there looked after if you dont over feed or underfeed and keep them healthy just like us humans really they should live a long and healthy live… i own chihauhuas and most toy breeds do tend to live longer than other breeds but only if properly cared for which im sure you do so relax he’ll be around for a long time yet!!!
