I’m getting to get a Papillon soon and wondering about typical problems they are prone too that I should watch out for.
Patellar Luxation – common in toy breeds
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (gradual loss of eyesight) – somewhat rare
Periodontal – Since Papillons have small mouths and their lips lay tight against the teeth and gums it is very common for Papillons to need regular dental fixes.
& more paps are having liver problems lately. My poor pup died from a liver complication :/
also, ask the breeder/whoever you’re getting it from of the dogs heredity issues, just in case.

You should check parent club website … http://www.papillonclub.org/
They will have health information there.
